Geology and Python

A blog stuffed with easy-to-follow Python recipes for geosciences !

About me

Hi!

I'm Bruno, founder of Geology and Python. I'm a graduate engineer geologist and a civil engineer with an abnormal sympathy for programming, in Python. I finished my undergraduate course in Geological Engineering at Federal University of Pelotas, in 2017. During the program, I had the opportunity to be a Science Without Borders student at Queen's University (Kingston, ON) for 16 months. Lately, I've been working as an independent geologist doing all kinds of businesses.

Since 2014, I have been studying the main Python packages and applying it to engineering and geology problems. In August, 2017, I decided to start sharing some of this knowledge in a blog and Geology and Python was born. Here, I usually try to create simple recipes for applications that I can't find online. Most of it is described in papers, but there is rarelly a step-by-step guide with it.

I am very interested and easy-going. Please, make contact! If you want to support and encourage me to keep going, please use the Paypal Donate button on the bottom of every page, including this one.
